Jay made it to Stratton, ME, in time to stay out of the worst of Irene. We are thankful he was able to be off the trail while the tropical storm passed through. Baxter State Park and Katahdin were closed through the weekend. I'm relieved to hear this news! Now, as soon as I hear from Michael, all will be well. Michael was in Andover, Maine on Saturday. I knew Jay was a day or two ahead of him. Glad you heard from him!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know where Michael is. He's not too far behind Jay! Jay is aiming to be on Katahdin by September 13-16, sometime that week. Maybe Mike will catch him! If so, we may see him. We're meeting Jay that week to greet him at the end and give him a ride to his plane home. If Mike doesn't catch Jay, please do let us know when he finishes. If Mike is there and we know about it I'm sure we could fit him in our car if he needs a ride somewhere.
